SoundArt 2018

The largest radio play studio of Westdeutscher Rundfunk is also the venue for our SoundART, which has been taking place since 2004 - the most enduring retrospective series of sound art works in Germany. The program is part of the cooperation between WDR 3, the STIFTUNG HÖREN and the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl.

The impressive space used to produce major radio broadcasts will become a stage for tonal-performative actions on this museum night: a challenge to the artist's improvisational skills and certainly to the ears and eyes of our visitors.

In Studio 3 of the WDR Funkhaus, Kathrin Stumreich, Ali Chakav, Robert Seidel & Nikolai von Sallwitz & Alsen Rau, Robert Elias Stokowy, Valerio Tricoli, Mario de Vega and Anne Wellmer present a live performance program with surprising acoustic and optical interventions.

Kathrin Stumreich is also this year's winner of the European SoundArt Award, which the Kulturradio WDR 3 awards with the STIFTUNG HÖREN and the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl.

The award ceremony takes place at 19.00 clock for the launch of SoundART.
We are looking forward to a program that is exactly tailored to the spatial conditions of the WDR Funkhaus. It is part of the overall offer of the Long Museum Night Cologne, in which the >> Kulturhaus << of the WDR as an active since the 1950s premiere venue for electronic and contemporary music integrates perfectly.

We wish you an exciting museum night
