On the occasion of the art prize of the Kunststiftung NRW - Nam June Paik Award, the award winner Camille Norment developed the site-specific installation Glass Pavilion Marl for the sculpture park. In her works, the artist explores cultural interdependencies on the basis of tonal and social dissonances. In the glass pavilion in Marl, visitors can experience a polyphonic sound composition both acoustically and physically. As part of the accompanying program to the presentation of Camille Norment's work, the voice artist Bettina Wenzel will lead through the sculpture park on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the FluxSongs sound walk.

FluxSongs consists of seven pieces that enable a new experience of one's own movement in the park in a playful and serious way. The artist's voice combines with the artificially generated sound of a tablet - they work against each other, meet and complement each other. Carried over the shoulder and pulled to the floor, the latter produces sounds reminiscent of the electronic musical instrument and predecessor of the synthesizer theremin. Crossing the park, a new, sensual encounter of new media and old trees develops is created at several stations in the park.

Bettina Wenzel is a voice artist and composer. Her exploration of her own voice and the development of intermedial performances began at the Center Artistique Roy Hart in Thoiras/France. The focus of her experimental investigations is the interaction between voice, electronic object and space and movement. She lives and works in Cologne.

The Sound Walk FluxSongs will take place on September 21, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. The starting point for the tour through the park is Thomas Schütte's melon column in the parking lot at Eduard-Weitsch-Weg 13.
